Motus Commercials, part of Motus Group (UK), has taken a significant first step towards sustainability by installing 376 solar panels at its dealership in Gloucester.
The panels, which cover an extensive part of the dealership's roof have a total system size of 190kW and will generate 165,845 kWh annually. This output will fulfil over one-third of the site's current annual energy demand, significantly reducing its reliance on non-renewable electricity sources.
Daniel Fitzjohn, Regional Director at Motus Commercials, said: "This installation not only demonstrates our commitment to sustainability, but also positions us as a leader in the adoption of clean energy within the automotive industry."

The installation will reduce the site's annual carbon footprint by approximately 39 tonnes of CO2, underscoring Motus Commercials' dedication to its carbon reduction and sustainability strategy. The Gloucester dealership, opened in 2019, continues to enhance its state-of-the-art facilities with a new Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) lane, additional workshop bays, and increased numbers of technicians to ensure high levels of service for DAF customers in the region.
Motus Commercials is the largest DAF Trucks dealer group in the UK and is leading the charge towards a greener future, with sustainability at the forefront of its investment plans. The panels were installed by Eden Sustainable, specialists in commercial solar PV systems, in partnership with Solar Solutions, a company providing bespoke clean energy solutions for businesses transitioning to net zero.
